6 day Hands –On Course
A six day Course (over 3 weekends) where clinicians bring their own patients and provide, with the guidance of Rahul Doshi and Ashish B Parmar, advanced hands on treatment of 8-10 anterior ceramic restorations.
Day 1 Advanced Case Set Up Requirements
• Complete examination and diagnosis of a patient utilizing several diagnostic recording and evaluation tools.
• Smile Analysis: Correct Assessment and Diagnosis.
• Phased sequencing and planning of the comprehensive case.
• Assessment and planning Advanced Smile Makeover cases e.g. involving wear, TMJ pain etc.
• Understanding advanced preparation techniques for Smile Design Dentistry.
• Advanced concepts in bur usage for Smile Design.
• Creating the ultimate temporaries to “WOW” the patient and to act as a “blueprint for success” (Advanced techniques).
• Assessment and planning typical Smile Makeover cases e.g. crowding and diastema cases.
• Learning the correct preparation design, occlusal planning and soft tissue management of Advanced Cases.
Day 2 Advanced Case Set Up Clinical
• Learn to create accurate and detailed pre-treatment records including:-
1. Diagnostic mock ups using composite to simulate the new smile and aid accuracy of wax ups
2. Taking of accurate silicone impressions
3. Facebow record
4. Stickbite record
5. Bite in centric relation
6. Digital photographs and measurements of the mock ups
• Hands On Taking CR records with ease and predictability.
Day 3 Advanced Occlusion
Our guest speaker for the day is Dr Roy Higson, probably the leading instructor on Occlusion in the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about occlusion!!
• Terminology, Basic Principles and legal considerations
• Articulators, facebows, centric relation, use of leaf gauges and mounting models
• Anatomy: Muscles and TMJ
• Splints: Theory and construction
Day 4 Advanced Smile Design Preparation and Temporisation
• The intensive hands-on patient treatment session (up to 10 anterior units). Treat your own patient, or The Perfect Smile Academy can provide a patient for you.
• Develop a critical eye for excellence in aesthetics.
• Each dentist will benefit from personal instruction for their own case and will help diagnose and review cases handled by other dentists.
Day 5 Advanced Case Delivery and Finishing
• Critical analysis of the master model compared to ideal pre-operative trial preparations and laboratory indices.
• Advanced Cementation techniques and failtures.
• Understanding Colour in cosmetic dentistry.
• Laboratory overview: Porcelain systems, build up techniques & use of indices.
• Advanced Marketing presentation with Dr Bhavna Doshi.
• Treatment of a full mouth case: learn how to do a full mouth case STEP BY STEP!
Day 6 Advanced Case Delivery and Finishing
• Seat the final porcelain restorations on your patient.
• Learn how to transform a smile from average to exceptional.
• Celebrate your acquired aesthetic knowledge.
